Laura Finucane is a Consultant Physiotherapist specialising in spinal conditions. In 2002 she completed her masters degree in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy and became a member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP). In 2018 she was awarded a fellowship of the MACP for her contribution to the profession. In 2019 she was awarded a fellowship of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy for her significant impact on the physiotherapy profession.
She is the education and training lead for advanced practitioners and physiotherapists ensuring clinicians maintain their competency and expertise to deliver the service for SMSKP. She is an external examiner and clinical mentor for the master’s course leading to membership of the MACP.
Laura’s special interest is in serious pathologies of the spine and she has presented nationally and internationally on this subject. She has written a number of papers related to serious pathology and teaches at a postgraduate level. Currently she is leading on developing an International clinical reasoning framework for clinicians faced with possible serious pathology.
She is the Vice President of The International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT), a sub group of the World Confederation of Physical Therapists.
Now Laura Finucane arrives to Finland with her Red Flags course. This course goes through the red flags, discussing the evidence and case studies, Cauda Equina Syndrome, Spinal fracture Differentiation and Spinal Infection
